Since past month both AMD and Nvidia have launched their new series of GPU in global market .It's not hidden that their is a cold war going on between these two Enthusiastic companies. So in this article I have decided to take a look on their newly released range of GPU's and compare them .
First being Nvidia and their newly announced GTX 780 ti which again is a part of 700 series, And is based on their Kepler GK 110 architecture . Now let's look on it's specs:
It comes with 2880 Shader processing units, 240 TMU's (texture mapping units).
>SLI: Enabled
>Release Date: 07 Nov 2013
>Memory: 3072 Mb(3 Gb)
>Memory Speed: 1750 Mhz
>Memory Bus: 384 bit
>Memory Type: GDDR5
>Memory Bandwidth:326 gb\s
>Direct X version: 11.1
>Shader Version: 5.0
>Max Power: 250 Watts
Now for AMD R9 290X it was announced just on week before GTX 780 Ti, It comes with GCN Hawaii XT architecture. It's specs are:
It comes with an 2816 Shader Processing Units 176 TMU's,
>Core speed: 1000 mhz
>Architecture: GCN Hawaii XT
>Crossfire:Enabled
>Memory: 4096 mb
>Memory Speed: 1250 mhz
>Memory Bus; 512 bit
>Memory Type: GDDR5
>Memory Bandwith: 320 Gb/s
>Direct X version: 11.2
>Shader version: 5.0
>Max power: 290 watts
Now looking on the data it seems that as usual Nvidia takes a slight edge with Lesser power consumption and giving nearly same performance while Amd delivers in memory BUS and core speed, But It seems like it still hasn't recovered from his old Problem HEATING .It has seen that while using a higher PSU"s(processors) It generates a lot heat. As GTX 780 Ti being 10k costlier than R9 290X I still will advice you to buy GTX simply because of it's Sustainability, Performance and Usability. If u are going to Lighten ur Pocket that much, I suggest should select a Reliable one.
